Ten to Three Bakery

Last weekend, me and hubby visited a bakery in Rotterdam called Ten to Three Bakery. Honestly I was looking for cupcakes around Rotterdam (as I also did in Jakarta). I found five so far, Lily's, V&D, Bijenkorf, HEMA and Ten to Three's. Considering V&D, Bijenkorf and HEMA are not shops that sell cakes exclusively (they sell everything, cakes just have to find their way to snoop around ;), I was looking forward to taste Lily's and Ten to Three.

The interior of the bakery

We (yes, we) found this bakery while we were at the centrum during koopavond (every Friday, Rotterdam shops open until 9 pm, which is the latest they can get) and I decided to visit the bakery that Saturday. From outside it looks like a cute place (to be honest, hubby was kinda afraid to be seen in there lol) and I fell in love, of course, with the pinks, yellows and flowery patterns.
Hubby looks like he don't belong :P

We ordered vanilla cupcake with chocolate cream, chocolate cupcake with vanilla cream and the red velvet cupcake. A cappuccino for hubby and a cafe latte for me. The classic cupcakes cost 2,25 euro and the specialty (red velvet) costs 2,75 euro. The regular sized drinks cost 2,50 euro each.

Everything that we ordered. Mini cupcakes, vanilla-chocolate, chocolate-vanilla, cappucinno, red velvet, latte.

I got a mini cupcakes for my foursquare check in (and a coffee purchase), got it in vanilla-vanilla. It is a nice place to spend time especially with girlfriends I guess, I saw some girls having their high tea treats together here, with mini savory treats. The bakery used pretty tea and coffee ware and I especially love the surprise writing on the saucer.

The writings on the saucer. It's an Alice in Wonderland teaware

After the tastings, I have to say that I like hubby's cupcake most, which was vanilla cupcake with chocolate cream. The cake was quite nice but I prefer it to be more moist and fluffy. As for the cream, I think most shops in Netherlands have same consistency for their cream, and for me it's still too hard. I miss the yummy fluffy cupcakes from Chocolate Amore at Kem Chik and Café Sweets in Pacific Place. Still, as I mentioned earlier, I think it's a nice place to spend time with girlfriends. It was quite packed while we were there and some people had to queue for the cupcakes so, better give it a try :)

You can find more information about ten to three at their website here :)

I think I know what you mean abuot the cream! I love the way cupcakes look but I dont eat the cream topping because it's just butter..mixed with sugar and flavouring. ><

Love the alice in wonderland themed cup and saucer! Glad you're settling in well! Be thankful you didn't move to my city - there is nothing to do here! Hahahaha...

I like the cream when they complement the cake's taste, I don't nibble at the cream but more like spoon them together both the cake and the cream :D But on these cupcakes the cream was too hard so it felt like they don't melt together :P

Yesyes I love the Alice in Wonderland theme also, in the department store earlier today I saw a dessert plate with "eat me" writings, so cute :D
